Contracting Out Contract Oversight
David Iisenberg writes about issues related to contracting for inherently Governmental services today over at the Huffington Post. Mr. Isenberg focuses on a recent report from the DoD-IG on DCMA's (Defense Contract Management Agency) activities in Afghanistan and notes that the Agency is ill-equipped to administer some $1.3 trillion in contracts. In fact, some of those contracts require contractors themselves to self-perform some of the oversight functions normally performed by the Government. Makes one wonder who is guarding the hen-house.
